TCF Financial Corp.: Lots Of Positives, But An Expensive Stock

It's an interesting time to be an investor in regional banks. There is a great deal of variation in the quality of small financial companies right now with some firms still suffering from the after effects of the recession, while others have seen significant price appreciation in anticipation of greater profitability in the next few years.

TCF Financial (NYSE:TCB) most definitely falls into this second category. Unfortunately for investors though, while the firm has a lot of things going for it right now, its valuation is just too stretched to justify investment currently.
