It would appear that the recent announcement by Steve Ballmer that as soon as a touch-first interface is complete, Microsoft (MSFT) will release a version of the popular Office productivity suite for the Apple (AAPL) iPad puts to rest the worry that Mr. Softy was protecting Office for the Surface tablet. The company's COO also commented that "we need to own the productivity experience across all devices." Given the importance of Microsoft Office to the bottom line, this is great news for investors and shareholders.
