The list of 50 Most Valuable U.S. Retail Brands was published by Interbrand earlier this year. The Top 10 of these brands are listed below:

Brand valuation methodology:

“All contenders for the list must qualify as follows: the brand must be a market-facing brand, with publicly available financial data, and positive Economic Value Added (EVA). Interbrand determines brand value the same way analysts value other assets: on the basis of how much they’re likely to earn in the future.”

The Top 3 brands are Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT), Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) and Home Depot (NYSE:HD). Wal-Mart’s Sam’s Club unit is the 10th most valuable brand in the country.
