Olin Corporation (NYSE: OLN) is a leading manufacturer and distributor of specialty chemicals, which have thousands of applications, including in the manufacture of PVC plastics, pulp and paper processing, water purification, pool chemicals, and bleach. The Midwestern concern is also home to the legendary Winchester name that many investors will know from their favorite western movies. Olin has been in business for over a century but it has made multiple acquisitions and divestitures over the years, including one in 2011 and another in 2012.
