Healthcare Trust Building An Elite Portfolio

Real estate investment trusts, or REITs, just can't seem to catch a break. Through 2012 REITs were a great place to be. But the party ended towards the middle of this year, and REITs have been in a bad slump ever since.

Here we can see the decoupling of REITs with the rest of this market. Although the S&P has been gliding to new highs, REITs are down some 20% off their peak. Not long ago a very famous investor quipped that it was "getting hard to find good deals" in this market. I believe REITs to be an exception to that. Many are trading at reasonable multiples, and more importantly they offer big dividend yields...
