Cramer's Lightning Round - The Market Likes 'D' Students (1/19/10)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the lightning round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV Program, Tuesday January 19.

Bullish Calls:

The Travelers Cos (NYSE:TRV): "I have always recommended Travelers… I am reiterating Travelers right now… but I do not expect any excitement, because, right now, the market likes the bad going to good…not the solid good… they like the D student going to big (better), more than they like the A student sticking at A."

Eli Lilly (NYSE:LLY): "...drug stocks have had quite a run… there could be a quick selloff.. if we get that selloff, I want you to buy, buy, buy… Eli Lilly, yield is safe, got nice growth, well run company… Indiana salutes it."

Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE:CMG): "I am a buyer of Chipotle… they have great service, great food, I wish that they would come on the show… that was a beautiful quarter… I think that the stock goes higher… perhaps even much higher."

Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO), Cree (NASDAQ:CREE): "I reiterate that I think Cisco is an up stock, goes higher… remember there is the backbone, it is the backbone of the internet tsunami… it remains on the buy list… I am still blown away by how great Cree’s number was… Cree is the electrical diodes (company) that is total, just absolute total internet tsunami… I am surfing the tsunami."

Bearish Calls:

eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY): "I had a nice little profit, I decided to skedaddle.. I just do not see the growth that I really like there.. it is not what I want to own here."

Emergent BioSolutions (NYSE:EBS): "Oh man you are a dice roller, my friend… I think that that is too dicey for me."

Eastman Kodak (EK): " I do not see any growth there, I like to recommend stocks with growth… not stocks that have no growth, that just sue people…"

Hartford Financial Services (NYSE:HIG): "I think that they are back from the dead… they had a better-than-expected quarter and now it is time to sell because we have had a nice run.. although they do have a $36 book value for the property and casualty division… so theoretically, if they get the rest of it right, the stock should be higher… I wish that they would sell property and casualty, and take the rest."
