While Google (GOOG) is the king of the consumer Internet, that is not enough. The company is also moving into the enterprise – and it is getting some momentum.

Of course, Google is focusing on its core strength: search. And, there is a huge need for this in the enterprise – in light of the explosion of corporate data.

Well, to this end, it looks like Google and BEA (Nasdaq: BEAS) are talking about finding ways to mash-up their technologies. BEA is a leader of corporate portals and can certainly leverage some of the cool features from Google, such as mapping. With an alliance, the process can be much more seamless.

Actually, BEA will apparently use its new technology, Adrenaline. This allows for a lot of flexibility with portal development and uses new programming techniques like Ajax.

In other words, BEA will provide its customers with a better interface while also maintaining the heavy-duty requirements of the enterprise (such as security).

I think, over the long-term, Google represents a threat to traditional enterprise software players. So, why not just partner with Google and leverage some of its expertise?
