TreeHouse Foods (THS), the nation's number one private foods company, has been a great investment during a weak economy. And with its various growth initiatives, including acquisitions and entry into the coffee business, it appeared to be an impressive long-term growth story.
However, one of the world's largest e-commerce companies might be getting into the foods business, which adds a level of risk to owning the stock. At this point it's anyone's guess as to whether Amazon (AMZN) will choose to compete head to head with TreeHouse, or whether it'll partner with the company.
