American Apparel: Disappointed, But Still Bullish And Looking Ahead To 2014

When I first wrote about American Apparel (APP) my investment thesis assumed that the company was at an inflection point and was well positioned for growth in the next 3-5 years. Since then, the company's financial performance has suffered because of execution issues related to the transition to a new distribution center. I am disappointed by the execution problems, but remain bullish on a 3-5 year timeframe. American Apparel is undergoing a messy turnaround that will take time. In this article I will discuss the recent execution issues and my outlook for 2014.
