Demand Blows In More Business For Broadwind Energy

A recent press release piqued interest for shares of Broadwind Energy (BWEN) to the tune of gains of almost 33% on Thursday's closing price of $8.71 from Monday's close of $6.56. The announcement from MidAmerican Energy singled out Siemens (SI) as its choice to produce 448 wind turbines as part of a $1.9 billion investment in expanding wind power in Iowa. With the deal valued at approximately $1 billion for Siemens, the order is the single largest for land-based wind turbines in the world.
