Cramer's Stop Trading! Goldman Sachs's Dumb Call (3/2/10)

Includes: EQT, GS, KMB, PZZA
by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on Jim Cramer's Stop Trading! TV Segment, Tuesday March 2.

Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS), Kimberly Clark (NYSE:KMB), Domino's Pizza (NASDAQ:PZZA), EQT (NYSE:EQT)

Even Goldman Sachs (GS) can make mistakes. Because of rising pulp costs, Goldman Sachs downgraded the maker of Huggies and Kleenex in spite of Kimberly Clark's (KMB) strong performance and 4.5% dividend. “The idea of selling this stock now,” Cramer said, “is really one of the dumber things I’ve heard."

Call it PR suicide or self-deprecating humor, but the recent advertising buzz is Domino's (PZZA) commercials making fun of its reputation for making pizzas that taste like cardboard. In the ad, the company discusses how it is reinventing its flavor, and Cramer calls the humorous commercial “perhaps the greatest PR coup I have seen in years.”

“People suddenly started talking about Domino’s,” Cramer said. “It was a homerun, and I salute them...You're seeing a monster quarter. I think it is the first of many."

Cramer thinks EQT (EQT) was smart to buy extensive Marcellus shale natural gas reserves "for a steal" and thinks the stock is "heading higher."
