Finish Line: Does The Pullback Provide A Nice Entry Point?

While stocks and other investments occupy the majority of my time, the Detroit Bear also has a passion for footwear. As an avid basketball player, footwear has been an important tool in my arsenal for several years; thus, I feel confident about my ability to evaluate the North American footwear market.

Before we get into Finish Line (NASDAQ:FINL) and its competitors, we must first take a bird's eye view of the athletic footwear market. Consumers make purchases for several reasons: performance improvement, replacement, fashion, and collecting. All of the major US brands compete in the first three categories, but, in my view, Nike (NYSE:NKE) and its subsidiary, Jordan Brand, primarily dominate collecting.
