Diversified healthcare company Kindred Healthcare (KND) instituted a dividend late last year and should now be on the radar of a lot of income investors for the strength of its business outlook. Kindred is trading just under $18 a share with a dividend yield of ~2.7%. While not a particularly rich dividend compared with long-time staples like AT&T (T) or Altria (MO), KND does offer a reasonable yield, and good opportunities for capital appreciation over time.
