A triple play occurs when a stock beats its EPS and revenue estimates and raises guidance. When it comes to earnings reports, it doesn't get any better than a triple play. We constantly monitor the triple plays during earnings season for potential buy opportunities. These stocks are the clear earnings season winners, and they usually have momentum on their side.

Below (click to enlarge) are the S&P 500 stocks that have reported triple plays this earnings season. Some of the more notable names on the list include IBM, Intel (NASDAQ:INTC), Starwood (NYSE:HOT), Texas Instruments (NASDAQ:TXN), and Western Digital (NASDAQ:WDC). Over at our subscription site, we provide a list of all triple plays throughout earnings season (weekly with Bespoke Premium and daily with Premium Plus), and we also highlight the names that have the best chart patterns. It's the triple-play stocks that also have positive technicals that we take the closest look at.
