This Netbook growth chart done by Morgan Stanley could just as easily be the rapidly dropping face value on a Greek bond.
The bigger trend here is the move out of x86 architecture and into ARM based processors. Very bad for Intel (INTC) and they are not adapting quickly enough even with recent releases. Intel feels like it's caught flat footed. Microsoft's (MSFT) challenges are just as interesting.
This will be fascinating to watch. Within a couple years I could see the vast bulk of netbooks using RISC, not x86 architecture, and I think it's a good thing for innovation.
