US: A slew of data, and earnings

U.S. investors will be eyeing the markets warily early next week after suffering through days of erratic trading and deep weekly market slumps. The flow of corporate earnings will continue and economic data will also be a focus for market participants.

Europe: U.K. goverment in focus

Efforts to form the U.K. government will be in focus. Also, Bulgari, Deutsche Telekom (DT), Vivendi (OTCPK:VIVEF) and EADS (OTCPK:EADSF) report results. The Bank of England will be meeting on Monday.

Asia: Sony, Toyota results on tap
Japan’s Sony (NYSE:SNE) is expected to report its first operating profit in two years, thanks to strong TV sales. Toyota (NYSE:TM) is expected to see a loss because of its recall crisis. China’s CPI and PPI data will offer hints on whether Beijing’s tightening measures are taking hold.
