The S&P 500 rose about 1.9% from its lows reached just after noon today. So which sectors led and which ones lagged?
As shown below, five sectors outperformed the overall market, while five underperformed. The Consumer Discretionary sector was up the most off the lows at 2.51%. The Materials sector saw a nice bounce as well at 2.26%. Financials, Industrials, and Technology were the other three sectors that outperformed. The Consumer Staples sector was up the least off the lows at 1.07%. Utilities, Health Care, Telecom, and Energy all underperformed as well, although Energy was pretty much right inline with the S&P 500. (Click to enlarge)
