Online advertising topped $4 billion in the third quarter, marking the second quarter in a row that online ads topped that threshold and the eight consecutive quarter of growth.
Details: The Interactive Advertising Bureau [IAB] and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP said Tuesday that Internet advertising revenues reached an estimated new record of $4.2 billion in the third quarter, up 33 percent from the same period a year ago, and up 2% from the second quarter.
If online ads top $4 billion in the fourth quarter, 2006 ad revenue will be a significant increase over the $12.5 billion in online ads in 2005.
