The chain stood out among its rivals during the economic downturn as it benefited from its strategies to tailor merchandise to local markets.
The company's omni-channel strategy allows customers to shop impeccably in stores, online, and via mobile devices. A crucial part of the company's omni-channel strategy is the company's capability to permit associates in any store to sell a product that may be unavailable locally by ordering merchandise from other stores or online fulfillment centers for delivery to the customer's door. The situation is also true vice versa as the company's online fulfillment centers can retrieve store inventories to satisfy online orders.
