A few years ago I read a book by Peter Navarro titled, "If it's Raining In Brazil, Buy Starbucks" and it stuck with me, as the point of the book is how far-reaching events can influence markets and/or shares of companies. Unlike the title of Navarro's book, it is not raining so much in Brazil these days, and the result is a coffee shortage, causing a spectacular rise in coffee futures.
