Jim Cramer's Real Money Radio Recap, Nov. 15
Encore Wire (WIRE) and Crocs (CROX) - Cramer has been avoiding the pressure certain people have been trying to exert on him to buy Encore Wire, and in that time, he has seen it get cut nearly in half from $40 to $23. "Encore Wire is levered to the worst part of the economy, and it has missed its estimates big-time and has had its earnings estimates for the future slashed," he said. Some have suggested that he could tout the stock to move it up and create a short squeeze, but Cramer says that he "doesn't play that game." While he comments that there was a squeeze in Crocs, the company is good, beats estimates and ultimately "that's what moves stocks higher," according to Cramer. On another note, the fact that a single investor drove up the market by buying $500 million worth of stock proves that there is not much stock out there, which is a good reason to stay with the market.
D.R. Horton (DHI) - Cramer says that this stock is going higher, but not because of a great quarter. The reason it will move up "and the reason all of the homebuilders have bids underneath, is the spectacularly easy sale of land that it's been sitting on," says Cramer adding that DHI is dealing with its inventory problem by getting rid of its excess land and extra houses.
Related: Judith Levy reports that DHI beat its estimates, but recommends caution.
Bullish calls:
Verizon (VZ) and AT&T (T): These are Cramer's favorite high-yielding stocks, with T at 4.5% and VZ at 4.1%. Cramer would buy some T and VZ and buy more if they move down.
Altria (MO): This is another one of Cramer's "favorites" with a high dividend.
Black & Decker (BDK): Cramer likes this BDK but notes that it has gone up.
Boeing (BA): This stock will go to 100 from $86.96, according to Cramer who would be an "aggressive buyer" of BA.
ConocoPhillips (COP) and Chesapeake Energy (CHK): Cramer prefers these stocks to XEC.
Neutral/Bearish calls:
PepsiCo (PEP): Cramer comments that customers are avoiding this company's trans-fatty snacks, and would sell PEP when it moves up.
Sprint Nextel (S) and Vodafone (VOD): These stocks are heading down, according to Cramer.
Cimarex Energy (XEC): "One of the worst oil companies out there," he comments.
