AES Tietê (OTCPK:AESAY) is a Brazilian hydroelectric power company that owns nine hydroelectric power plants and three small hydroelectric power plants. All of these power plants are located along four rivers, the Tietê, the Grande, the Pardo, and the Mogi-Guaçu, which are all located in the central and Northwestern regions of the State of São Paulo, Brazil. The company is affiliated with American electric utility AES Corp. (NYSE:AES), which should give it some of the advantages that U.S.-based electric utilities possess including a high reliability and transparency in financial reporting.
