Firms don't come much more prestigious in the private equity world than Carlyle Group (NASDAQ:CG). What Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) once was in investment banking, Carlyle still is private equity. With the possible exception of Blackstone (NYSE:BX), CG is in my opinion the most well-regarded PE firm in the world. That's important for potential investors in the stock, as the PE space is still very driven by reputation.
