Lumos Networks Is Attractive Due To Low Valuation And Even Lower Expectations

Company overview

Lumos Networks (NASDAQ:LMOS) provides data, voice and IP-based telecommunication services in the Mid-Atlantic region to carrier, enterprise and residential customers. In October 2011, LMOS was spun off from its parent NTELOS. The three operating segments consist of the following:

  • The strategic data segment provides enterprise data (dedicated internet, metro Ethernet, private line), carrier data (wholesale transport and fiber to the cell or FTTC) and IP services (DSL, VoIP, video).
  • The legacy voice segment provides local/long distance phone, toll and directory advertising services to enterprise and residential customers.
  • The access segment provides carrier customers access to its network.
