Now this may be more of a rant than an investment thesis, but I have to share it. I wanted to call AT&T (T) to set up a VOIP line, so I went to their website and clicked on "contact us to get in touch with a sales representative". Simple enough.

Its funny though, I got a recording. Not all that surprising, except the recording went on about the offices being closed until Monday due to the Thanksgiving holiday! Interesting. Today is December 6th! How can one of the largest communications providers in the world not realize they are not getting sales calls for over TWO weeks! This is mind blowing.

at&t logo So, in frustration as well as curiosity, I decided to try contacting another number in the hope of speaking to a representative that could direct my call where I needed. Well I should have known better. Automated responses galore! I tried several options but they wanted me to answer about 20 questions from the automated operator. We wrangled together for about 15 minutes until finally machine beat man. It HUNG UP on ME! Hilarious. I just have to laugh. But it also makes me wonder how anyone could invest in a company that operates in this manner?

Anecdotal? Sure. But come on! Two weeks of having no sales call? That is no minor foul up for a company of AT&T's stature. Just thought I would share since I found it enough for me to always steer clear of this one.
