by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the Lightning Round segment of Jim Cramer's Mad Money Program, Wednesday May 7.

Bullish Calls:

  • BioMarin (NASDAQ:BMRN): "BMRN is one of those that is going to be a survivor. This period is so nasty for biotechs, but BioMarin has real drugs, a real CEO and real labs."
  • Alcatel-Lucent (ALU), Nokia (NYSE:NOK): "I want you to to stick with ALU. I like both Nokia and ALU."
  • SPDR Gold Trust ETF (NYSEARCA:GLD): "If we want gold, we'll buy the GLD."
  • American Airlines (NASDAQ:AAL), Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL), Spirit Airlines (NASDAQ:SAVE) Southwest Airlines (NYSE:LUV): "I like LUV. American Airlines is the one to own, and then Delta, and then Spirit and after that, Southwest Airlines."
  • Abraxas Petroleum (NASDAQ:AXAS), Sandridge Energy (NYSE:SD): "AXAS is an interesting company, an interesting spec. I will see your spec and top it with Sandridge, which has really gotten its act together."

Bearish Calls:

  • Vale S.A. (NYSE:VALE): "I gave up. At my charitable trust, we decided we'd take big gains against that loss. Basically, I don't like Brazil. It is a cheap stock, but it never seems to go higher."
  • New Gold (NYSEMKT:NGD): "No, no. We ruled out buying these gold companies, because they are so disappointing."
