by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the Lightning Round segment of Jim Cramer's Mad Money Program, Thursday May 8.

Bullish Calls:

  • Pfizer (NYSE:PFE): "I hope it gets the AstraZeneca (NYSE:AZN) deal ... This wouldn't just be good for Pfizer, this would be great for Pfizer. The combination is really good."
  • TriNet Group (NYSE:TNET): "Let's give this some time. This is a very profitable company that came public during a period of tremendous froth. This is a winner. If it comes down, I want you to buy more."
  • Ventas (NYSE:VTR): "The yield is lower (than LTC Properties), but the growth prospects are better."
  • SolarCity (NASDAQ:SCTY), First Solar (NASDAQ:FSLR): "SCTY is good as a long-term investment. It does have a good model. I am recommending it, but I prefer First Solar."
  • Smith & Wesson (SWHC): "The demand shocks me, and that is why the stock continues to work higher."

Bearish Calls:

  • LTC Properties (NYSE:LTC): Cramer prefers Ventas.
  • Noodles & Company (NASDAQ:NDLS), Potbelly Corporation (NASDAQ:PBPB): "Noodles' management talked a big game and disappointed. I'm not seeing the kind of action I want to see in Noodles or Potbelly. We were excited, but we were wrong to be as excited as we were."
