Cramer's Lightning Round - Skechers Is Here to Stay (8/18/10)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on Jim Cramer's lightning round session, Wednesday August 18.

Bullish Calls

Skechers (NYSE:SKX), Nike (NYSE:NKE), DSW (NYSE:DSW): "Look, all I can tell you is that Skechers is here to stay. I was talking to my friend, Darrin Rovell, today. And we both feel that, even though Nike's coming in... boy, Nike's coming in hot... Nike Inc is good. DSW Inc. is really good. That Skechers will go back. It has too much cash and too much momentum. So I want to own Skechers, and I want to buy Skechers."

ARM Holdings (NASDAQ:ARMH), Cirrus Logic (NASDAQ:CRUS), Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Cree (NASDAQ:CREE), SanDisk (SNDK), Skyworks (NASDAQ:SWKS): "ARM Holdings is an Apple play. We know how we feel about the Apple plays... buy, buy, buy! Let me throw in Cirrus Logic. Right now, the stock looks like it's peaking. I think that's a head fake. AAPL, Cirrus Logic, ARM Holdings... they're all buys as, by the way, is SanDisk at $42... is Cree at $60... and is Skyworks right here."

Cognizant Tech (NASDAQ:CTSH): "I want to buy Cognizant Tech. CTSH is the way to go. Don't mess around with the other guys. Cognizant Tech is by far the best."

Kinder Morgan Partners (NYSE:KMP): "If you want to get a dividend distribution... Kinder Morgan Energy Partners."

Bearish Calls

Tyco Electronics (NYSE:TEL): "You know, it's neither here nor there. It's just... it's got automotive, data... it's just like a mixture, a pastiche, a mosaic of a company. I think we don't have enough to like it. The yield's not high enough, the earnings are not that powerful. I say don't buy. Let's come up with something better together. I just don't see it there. Don't buy, don't buy..."

Satyam Computer Services (SAY): "The little $5 thing? Uh, no, no, no..."

Terra Nitrogen Company (NYSE:TNH): "You've got a real big gain here (in TNH), because of the Potash bid. I want you to take some off the table... I want you to ring the register. I don't think there's a takeout there. I want you to take something off the table, and then I would feel much, much better so you don't give up that really, really beautiful gain."

Anadarko Petroleum (NYSE:APC): "We think the world of Jim Hackett [CEO]. Unfortunately, natural gas... actually, it's got more oil these days... but, remember, their partner is BP. So we have been going on hold on this... don't buy, don't buy... until Jim Hackett comes on the show, which I'm sure he will, and we really make some sense about their role in the BP problem. Until then, I'm on the sidelines."
