Western Gas Partners (NYSE:WES) is a growth oriented MLP formed by Anadarko Petroleum (NYSE:APC) in 2008 to own, operate, acquire and develop midstream energy assets. WES's assets are concentrated in the mid-continent but also has a growing presence in Pennsylvania. The partnership is engaged in gathering, processing, compressing, treating and transporting natural gas, condensate, natural gas liquids ("NGLs") and crude oil for Anadarko, as well as third-party producers and customers.
A recent May presentation (available here) shows that WES's footprint is found in major shale plays like the Eagle Ford, Niobrara, Marcellus, and Permian Basin:
