Polski Koncern Naftowy Orlen (OTC:PSKOF) is a Polish refinery operating in a few Central European countries. The company is located in Poland but its main assets are also in Lithuania, Czech Republic and Germany. Most recently PKN has acquired the oil and gas assets in Canada - in this way the company became another Polish entity to grow its business outside of Europe (in one of my last articles I presented KGHM, one of the biggest copper and silver producers, which became a global player after acquiring a Canada-based Quadra). As you see, the Polish companies start to think globally. This is a fundamental change in the mentality of the managers operating in the former Eastern bloc countries....
