Over the past 5 years, supermarket and grocery retailers in the US experienced significant polarization, obvious after reviewing market segments' performance. Because of the rise in consumer awareness and disposable income, consumers gravitated towards high-end grocers. Strong growth in organic and natural product sales helped to offset the stagnation in supermarket and grocery store industry.
