Some Rate Increases Priced In, But Aegon Should Still Have More Room To Rise With Rates

Aegon NV (NYSE:AEG) is not as well known name in the US as other major insurers like MetLife (NYSE:MET), but the company is still a major player in the life insurance and annuities in the US as well as the UK, Netherlands, and to a lesser extent in dozens of other countries. The stock struggled for several years during and after the Recession before staging a significant rebound in 2013. In 2014, the rebound has paused thus far, but I see further upside to the stock if interest rates continue to rise. While rates have paused for now, I think this is temporary and as time passes, rates should begin to rise around the world.
