Myers Industries To Perform Well Due To Major Segment Revamping

Myers Industries (NYSE:MYE) recently completed its acquisition of Scepter, which will boost its Material Handling segment's net sales by 30%. The Material Handling segment had net sales of $323 million in 2013 and Scepter accounts for $100 million in additional annual net sales. At the same time, Myers has its Lawn & Garden segment up for sale. Lawn & Garden accounted for $205 million in net sales last year, but that represented a 1% decline over 2012. Myers is looking to replace the lagging Lawn & Garden business with businesses that have better future growth potential.
