Stocks discussed on the Lightning Round segment of Jim Cramer's Mad Money Program, Tuesday July 15.

Bullish Calls:

  • Merck (NYSE:MRK), Bristol Myers (NYSE:BMY), Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ): "I would rather see you in Merck or Bristol Myers (than Vivus). You could use the weakness in JNJ today to buy that stock."
  • Linn Energy (NASDAQ:LINE), LinnCo (NASDAQ:LNCO): "We've had our ups and downs with LNCO, which is the same as LINE, but for a different kind of account. LNCO is fine. It went through a bad FCC period. People asked me why I dumped it from my charitable trust. I said I don't like to own stocks that have FCC investigations. Now that has passed. It seems like an inexpensive stock."
  • Perrigo (NYSE:PRGO): "I believe the rumors that Perrigo might end up getting a bid, and I like the earnings profile from Perrigo."
  • Rite Aid (NYSE:RAD): "Everyone is in panic with RAD. It doubled, and then it had a bad quarter. It is recharging. What has happened is that next quarter it will take back the earnings it missed. I think it is a great stock to own. Understand that it is much more speculative than Walgreen or CVS."
  • Windstream Holdings (NASDAQ:WIN), Enterprise Products Partners (NYSE:EPD): "It is entirely a dividend play. People know the yield is safe. It doesn't have a lot of growth, but in a world where interest rates are paying very little, people like Windstream. Me, I don't like to reach for yield. I'd rather be in something like EPD if I want yield that badly. I know that has a much lower yield, but it has more growth."
  • Chubb (NYSE:CB), Travelers (NYSE:TRV): "I think it is very good. I like TRV a little more because it is cheaper. TRV has been chronically undervalued."
  • Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO): Cramer prefers Cisco to Alcatel-Lucent.

Bearish Calls:

  • General Electric (NYSE:GE): "It reports later this week. My charitable trust owns it. The portfolio has been hurt by this. GE has not been able to break out of this range. CEO Jeff Immelt needs to explain why the future is brighter than its past ... or else, it is just going to do nothing."
  • Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU): "I liked it, and then it had a good run. It seems capped right now. It is not in a position where I want it to be."
  • Akamai (NASDAQ:AKAM): "It has started to have a series of excellent quarters, however, the stock is very fully valued. I would not be a buyer at this level."
  • Vivus (NASDAQ:VVUS): "I think it is too speculative. I don't like how it has done with the obesity drug."
  • Lannett Company (NYSE:LCI): Cramer prefers Perrigo.
