Cramer's Lightning Round - Shaw's Nuclear Problem (11/1/10)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the lightning round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV Program, Monday November 1.

Bullish Calls:

Westport Innovations (NASDAQ:WPRT): "You know I like Westport. That is my spec. Now, if we get a little change in Washington, maybe we become a little more natural gas oriented and we too get involved in the rebate, and then WPRT is the big winner."

Vale S.A. (NYSE:VALE): "Hey, you know I like iron...I am going to send you to Vale S.A. ... I like it very much."

Sara Lee (SLE): "Sara Lee? It seems like it's $1 down and $6 up. That's my kind of ratio. Buy, buy, buy! I'm a buyer... I'm a buyer of Sara Lee. I don't see a lot of downside to it. They could take my head off, but that's the way I feel."

Bearish Calls:

Shaw Group (NYSE:SHAW): "Well okay... let's be candid, because all that I have is my candor here, okay... Mr. Bernhardt [CEO] was on our Tulane show, and a few days after, he reported a very bad quarter. Now, he may want to say why it was a good quarter. But I'm from the world which says, when a stock gets hit, it's a bad quarter. I'm from a very black and white world. And that quarter was not special and they had nuclear problems. And I think that Mr. Bernhardt... I wish he had let on a little bit more about the nuclear problem, and I wish I had drilled down on it. Because the answer is... don't buy, don't buy... is a "don't buy," because of the nuclear problems."

Cliffs Natural Resources (NYSE:CLF): "I'm not going to send you to Cliffs, I am going to send you to Vale."

J C Penney (NYSE:JCP): "Uh, the stock's up on takeover speculation... sell, sell, sell... and hedge fund rumblings. And I've got to tell you something, I would not buy it here... don't buy, don't buy... There are so many other better retailers."

Penn Viriginia Corporation (PVA): "No, no! That's way too risky for me, come on... sell, sell, sell. We either get a good yield, or we get good findings. Now we don't have the good findings with PVA, and we don't have the good yield. So that is not for me."

Goodyear Tire (NASDAQ:GT): "Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope... that's a dog, no thank you... sell, sell, sell. Plus, rubber's going higher. I don't want to have anything to do with that one."

Power-One (NASDAQ:PWER): "Too risky... too risky! This is one of those I looked at very aggressively... I can absolutely sense that there's like an alternative energy route business that can be terrific in the out years. It is too risky for me, and that's why I have not really pushed that on this show, even though I like the core business."

Eastman Kodak (EK): "You come to me with Eastman Kodak, which is a Rochester loser! I want you to sell, sell, sell."
