Bullish calls:
Chevron (CVX): 'If I have to own an oil stock, I'll go for CVX, because it has a better dividend.'
Melco PBL Entertainment (MPEL): 'People know I like that stock. That's one of the IPOs that I think should be bought. Now, there are rumors galore that Donald Trump is going to make a deal with them ... I am not sticking my neck out. But I pass on the knowledge that it could be incorrect but, if it happens, it's worth a lot to TRMP, and a lot to MPEL.'
NYSE Group (NYX): 'That's arbitrage. NYX is going down. It's a 'mon-back situation. The NYX is cheap, cheap, cheap.'
eBay (EBAY): 'A lot of people doubt me on this EBAY positive call... They're wrong, they're totally wrong. I believe that EBAY will make the number ... it's a triple buy. Buy, buy, buy!'
Simon Property Group (SPG): 'I think that you've got a great gain, and I want to do a little schnitzel - not a lot - because the dividend is good. And I still like REIT's that are in commercial. That's good business.'
Northgate Minerals (NXG): 'Gold's still going up ... NXG is a nice speculative play, and I'm not turning my back on it.'
Yamana Gold (AUY): 'Is it [NXG] the cream of the crop for gold? No. That is AUY, which comes to the New York Stock Exchange next week to ring the bell.'
Crystallex (KRY): 'By the way, how about the way KRY keeps sneaking up. That ain't so bad either.'
Dell (DELL): 'I think that the rally in personal computers is going to be so big, that it could even encompass even DELL, and I would buy the stock right into the Vista launch, and then goodbye.'
Wells Fargo (WFC): 'WFC's a bull! This bank stock is the best-in-show regional bank ... They know how to integrate; they know how to cross-sell. It's a buy, buy, buy!'
Bearish calls:
Exxon Mobil (XOM): 'XOM was marked up by two mutual funds that went crazy competing with each other for stock. I don't want to own XOM ... Let XOM come in. The buyers disappeared today.'
Motorola (MOT): ' The cell phone business is just too hard... I say no. And I include 'no' for NOK. Too hard for this guy, especially with AAPL coming in and taking no prisoners (referring to Apple's wireless phone).'
Nokia (NOK)
Hershey (HSY): ' HSY at $50 ... It's not going to help you, it's not going to hurt you. It doesn't really go anywhere.'
