lt has been awhile since we updated the long and near-term performance of the 30 members in the Dow, so below we do so using our custom trading range screen. At the moment, 20 of the 30 stocks in the index are trading into overbought territory (more than one standard deviation above the 50-day moving average). Just two stocks are oversold -- Kraft (KFT) and Merck (NYSE:MRK). Surprisingly, Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM) -- the biggest company in the world -- is the most overbought stock in the Dow at the moment. Intel (NASDAQ:INTC), Disney (NYSE:DIS), Alcoa (NYSE:AA), Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO), and Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ) aren't far behind Exxon. The key Financials in the Dow -- Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) and JP Morgan (NYSE:JPM) -- were both oversold a week ago, but they have rebounded quite significantly. Bank of America has now moved above its 50-day, and JP Morgan has moved into overbought territory.
In terms of year-to-date performance, Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT) remains on top with a 2010 gain of 45.42% at the moment. Du Point (NYSE:DD) isn't far behind with a gain of 43.63%. Bank of America (BAC) is down the most year-to-date at -16.73%, followed by Hewlett Packard (HPQ), Alcoa (AA), and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT).
