Third Quarter GDP Grows 2.6%: Looks Like a Recovery

Finalized third quarter GDP growth came in just below the median estimate of 2.6%. While the US economy has not yet realized the explosive growth that many economists say is representative of a recovery, the fact that things are improving is undeniable. Shown below, there have now been five consecutive quarters of growth in excess of 1%, and if we look back at the 2002 recovery it wasn't until the third quarter of 2003 that any numbers above 4% were recorded.
