Shares of embattled retailer Books-A-Million (NASDAQ:BAMM) have had quite the interesting history. Once a profitable bookseller, shares have languished in penny stock territory for years now following its fall from grace. Along with competitor Barnes & Noble (NYSE:BKS) and now-defunct Borders, BAMM has fallen victim to an old world business model that simply can't compete with the Amazons (NASDAQ:AMZN) of the world.
