Cramer's Lightning Round - Coinstar Feels a Lot Like Blockbuster (1/18/11)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the Lightning Round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV Program, Tuesday January 18.

Bullish Calls:

Whole Foods (WFMI), Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE:CMG): "Food with integrity and supermarkets with integrity when it comes to food are buys. I'll throw in CMG. I like them both."

BB&T (NYSE:BBT): "There is a lot of negativity around BB&T. I like the company. It is a growth bank stock. The bears are going to have to eat crow."

Synovus Financial Corp (NYSE:SNV) "I want you to ride the stock out. I was going to make this my spec stock of the week, but it's a 3 dollar stock and I am wary that people will go crazy for the thing, there is a turn coming. Goldman Sachs put out pretty good research on it. I like SNV."

Taseko Mines (NYSEMKT:TGB): "... really kind of a second tier non-play off miners but I like copper so much I am willing to recommend it as a spec play, not a play on earnings."

Bearish Calls:

Coinstar (NASDAQ:CSTR): "I think it was an overreaction to the downside. I am not a believer in companies that have that big a miss. I can't be. I am putting it in the penalty box. This one felt like Blockbuster and a lot less like Netflix. I'm in the 'don't buy' camp. If it rallies, I'm a seller."
