Deal Idea: 3M (MMM) should put some of its efforts into the renewable energy sector by purchasing solar efficiency leader SunPower (SPWRA), said Travis Holum of the Motley Fool. Dolby Laboratories (DLB) should also buy IMAX, and Apple (AAPL) should buy TiVo, said Holum.

Two large Chicago-area hospital operators are exploring a merger in a deal that could create the largest Catholic-owned health care system in Illinois. Resurrection Health Care, which operates six hospitals in Chicago and the suburbs, has signed a letter of intent to “explore a merger” with Mokena-based Provena Health, which owns six hospitals in the suburbs and downstate.
