Cramer's Stop Trading! We Are a Coal Nation (2/15/11)

Includes: BTUUQ, CNX, SHAW
by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on Jim Cramer's Stop Trading! TV Program, Tuesday February 15.

Peabody (BTU), Consol (NYSE:CNX), Shaw (NYSE:SHAW)

While there is technology to produce small, economically viable nuclear power generators, Cramer says this will work in other countries, but not in the U.S. "There is no support for this in the U.S....we'd rather be coal than nuclear."

"We have to forget about nuclear," Cramer continued. "Mr. Smith did not go to Washington....the purpose of ethanol is to elect people in Iowa...we have the best government money can buy." Concerning companies like Shaw (SHAW), he said, "Shaw can do nuclear. They can do it overseas."

"We are in a coal supercycle....there are two forms of fuel we are committed to: coal and ethanol. We are a coal nation...let's stop pretending...who are we to judge that coal is bad? Just because it kills 20,000 people a year."

Cramer confesses he has personally been pro-nuclear power since 1979, "but I'm here to make money, not to dream dreams...if you can't beat 'em, join 'em."

He recommends buying Peabody (BTU) and Consol (CNX)
