With current events in Japan and the Middle East, investors will be sure to find some attractive opportunities in the next several weeks. Some stocks are already trading at very attractive valuations. When combining Benjamin Graham's and Joel Greenblatt's view on stock picking, we get the following results:
Market Cap > 300
Current P/E <15
Forward P/E <15
High insider ownership >30%
These criteria ensure that the companies are large enough that they have earnings yields double that of AA bond yields that have management efficiency ratios, but most importantly, have high insider ownership. Limited by Finviz's screening criteria, I suggest readers take an in-depth look into the numbers and ensure that the company's ROIC (not ROE) is greater than its weighted average cost of capital and that the insiders have a considerable amount of optionality on company stock.
