Cramer's Lightning Round - Don't Gamble Yet With Las Vegas Sands (3/16/11)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the Lightning Round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV Program, Wednesday March 16.

Bullish Calls:

Ford (NYSE:F): "It did explode from the single digits all the way to $18, then it came down. I think the story long-term is good, there is a strike that could happen, and last quarter was not that good. I think Ford is good to buy. I don't think it is going to do anything in this environment of worry and woe, but I think Ford is a good stock for many years, and I am a believer in Ford."

Accuride (NYSE:ACW): "This is a story... was it a great quarter, no, but if I think a company is doing better... if it has a rising tide which is the truck market, I'm not going to cut and run, and I am going to cut and run if the funds are deteriorating... I think when it gets to $12, I want to buy buy buy more."

Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX): "If you get negative information and the stock goes up, that is the bottom...this stock has powered ahead in the worst tape imaginable. I think it is a buy... I think the Goldman Sachs recommendation of it going to $300 is spot on. I urge you to get that if you can... I think this company has the best business model of any company I follow; 200 million subscribers... it is taking up huge business in Canada. It is a good story."

Bearish Calls:

Las Vegas Sands (NYSE:LVS): "I happen to like this company... this is a heroic time to buy this stock. I am not into heroics... that stock can go lower before it goes higher. I need to wait until Japan gets better, not worse."

Disney (NYSE:DIS): It's got some worldwide exposure I don't want. Having said that, this is precisely the kind of stock, as it drops down to $36-$37, you are going to hear me say "buy, buy, buy," but I'm in no hurry to buy it here...this would be a heroic level to start to buy Disney."

Bank of America (NYSE:BAC): "Here's the problem with BAC. It is going to do nothing for a while because it is a turnaround story and a value story, and even though the company tells a good story...BAC you can own it, but I don't think it will do much..I like stocks that move."

Energy Solutions (NYSE:ES-OLD), Shaw (NYSE:SHAW): "We are not going to recommend nuclear related stocks... they are too dicey....I would sell...I would also sell Shaw."

Hudson City Bancorp (NASDAQ:HCBK): "They are having some inquiries...this is a tough one... this is a conservatively run bank, but the government doesn't like the portfolio, and until they clarify the situation with the dividend...I can't recommend it. I have other banks under seige I like more. I can't recommend it until we find out what is going on with the dividend."
