Ken Fisher is the founder of California-based Fisher Investments, which manages $43 billion for investors. Fisher authored seven money management books, three of which are New York Times bestsellers. He's been writing the Portfolio Strategy column for Forbes for over 26 years, and he's the fourth-longest running columnist in Forbes' history. He's currently ranked #252 on the 2010 Forbes 400 list of richest Americans. He is also one of our favorite fund managers.

In February Ken Fisher said that he is more neutral on the stock market than he has been in years. The stock market declined by 3% since then. Nevertheless, Fisher is relatively bullish about emerging markets and energy stocks. At the end of December his stock portfolio was valued at $36 billion. Here are his favorite stock picks with at least $250 million invested:

These stocks returned 1.5% so far in 2011, underperforming the SPY by 1.7 percentage points. Fisher’s portfolio is tilted toward emerging markets, European stocks and commodity producers. Passport Capital’s John Burbank, George Soros and Perry Capital’s Richard Perry had large short EEM positions at the end of December. EEM declined 2.9% so far in 2011, contributing Fisher’s slightly poor performance. It seems like Fisher’s portfolio is betting on a decline in the U.S. dollar and so far didn’t yield any material returns. If Jim Rogers and Ray Dalio are right about their predictions about the U.S. dollar, then Ken Fisher will make billions.

Disclosure: I am long SPY, MSFT.
