Longs can take a crack at Phillips-Van Heusen (NYSE:PVH) shares regardless of what direction the stock takes in its post-earnings after-hours trade. On Sept. 7, 2010, PVH gained 1.4% in after-hours trade after beating Q2 estimates and setting guidance mostly above the Street view. The stock added to its upside the next day, closing the Sept. 8 regular session up 7%.
On May 24, 2010, PVH declined 3.5% in after-hours trade after beating Q1 expectations and setting mixd guidance. It cut its downside the following day, closing the May 25 regular session off 0.6%.
On March 22, 2010, PVH edged up 0.3% in evening action on the back of better-than-expected results and guidance. It firmed modestly higher in the March 23 regular session, ending up 1.1%.
On Nov. 18, 2009, PVH edged 0.02% lower in after-hours trade despite reporting better-than-expected results and guidance. The stock turned higher the following day, ending the Nov. 19 regular session up 1.4%.
On Aug. 19, 2009, the stock fell 1% in extended-hours trading after a Q2 beat but guidance below Street expectations. Shares rebounded to post a 0.9% gain the following day.
On May 19, 2009, the stock ended evening trading up 0.07% at 27.90 after a Q1 beat and guidance that straddled the Street view. Shares fell modestly the following day.
On March 23, 2009, PVH declined 4% in after-hours trade after reporting mixed results, guidance. The stock reversed in the following day's regular session, ending March 24 bell-to-bell action up 13.4%.
On Nov. 18, 2008, PVH advanced 2% in after-hours trade after topping Q3 expectations. It lost the gain the next day, ending the Nov. 19 regular session down 3.3%.
On Aug. 20, 2008, the stock fell 3% in the evening hours after PVH missed Q2 revenue estimates. The loss widened just slightly the next day, to 3.6%.
On May 20, 2008, the stock slipped 0.3% during evening trading after PVH tops with Q1 resultsa and sets mixed guidance. The loss increased to 5.2% by the next day.
On March 24, 2008, the stock fell 4.4% during evening trading after the company tops with Q4 EPS though revenue shy. The stock rebounded to gain 3.1% the next day.
On Dec. 3, 2007, PVH declined 6.4% in after-hours trade after reporting mixed results and guidance. The stock continued heading south in the Dec. 4 regular session, losing 13% by the closing bell.
On Aug. 22, the stock gained 3.3% in the evening hours after reporting ahead with Q2 earnings and guiding in line to higher. The gain was a slightly improved 3.5% the next day.
On May 29, 2007, PVH was up 2.8% in the evening hours after reporting ahead of the Street with Q1 results. The gain expanded to 7.6% the next day.
On March 26, 2007, the stock fell 3.7% in evening trading despite topping with results and guiding for Q1 largely in line. Shares were down a slightly smaller 2.2% the next day.
On November 20, 2006, PVH edged up 1.4% in night trade after beating Q3 estimates. The shares strengthened further the next day, closing the regular session up 7.8%.
On August 23, 2006, PVH gained 2% in after-hours trade when the company beat Q2 expectations and issued above-Street guidance. However, the shares could not hold onto those gains and slipped 0.3% by the end of the next day's regular session.
