For traders with a more short-term time horizon, we have compiled a list of the S&P 1500 stocks trading above $10 that have the largest intraday high-low ranges (based on the average percent spread between the intraday high and low over the last 50 days). We then grouped the stocks based on whether they have a rising or falling 50-day moving average. Finally, stocks highlighted in gray are new to the list this month.
For the second month in a row JDS Uniphase (JDSU) tops the list of most volatile stocks followed by GPOR, MED, EBIX, OPLK, STRI, FTO, and IO. These are the only eight stocks in the S&P 1500 that are currently trading above $10 per share that have averaged an intraday move of 5% or more in the last fifty trading days.
While most of the stocks on the list below are priced in the teens to twenties, there are a handful of relatively high priced stocks on the list, including GMCR and HOC which are the only two stocks currently trading above $5 per share.
