All companies in this list have a market capitalization above $400 million, P/E ratio lower than 18 and dividend yield of at least 2%. XOM recently traded at $82.62 and has a 2.1% dividend yield. XOM gained 32.6% during the past 12 months. The stock has a market cap of $407 billion and P/E ratio of 11.77. More than 100 hedge funds snatched XOM. They own nearly $4 billion worth of Exxon Mobil shares. Even Warren Buffett has XOM in his stock portfolio.

2. AmeriGas Partners, LP (APU): AmeriGas Partners, L.P. operates as a retail propane distributor in the United States. APU recently traded at $46.82 and has a 6.2% dividend yield. APU gained 27.3% during the past 12 months. The stock has a market cap of $2.67 billion and P/E ratio of 17.28.

3. Suburban Propane Partners, LP (SPH): Suburban Propane Partners, L.P. provides retail marketing and distribution of propane, fuel oil, refined fuels, natural gas and electricity in the United States. SPH recently traded at $52.32 and has a 6.1% dividend yield. SPH gained 25.6% during the past 12 months. The stock has a market cap of $1.85 billion and P/E ratio of 16.92. Chuck Royce had $19 million in SXL at the end of December.

5. EV Energy Partners, LP (EVEP): EV Energy Partners, L.P. provides acquisition, development and production of oil and natural gas properties in the United States. EVEP recently traded at $53.45 and has a 5.2% dividend yield. EVEP gained 96% during the past 12 months. The stock has a market cap of $1.64 billion and P/E ratio of 16. Jim Simons had $12 million in EVEP at the end of December.

6. Alliance Resource Partners, LP (ARLP): Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. provides production and marketing of coal for utilities and industrial users in the United States. Questar Corporation (STR): Questar Corporation provides gas and oil exploration and production services, midstream field services, energy marketing, interstate gas transportation and retail gas distribution. STR recently traded at $17.02 and has a 3.5% dividend yield. STR gained 20.1% during the past 12 months. The stock has a market cap of $3.01 billion and P/E ratio of 8.93. Osterweis Capital had $92 million in STR at the end of December.

9. ConocoPhillips (COP): ConocoPhillips operates as an integrated energy company worldwide. COP recently traded at $71.97 and has a 3.4% dividend yield. COP gained 35.7% during the past 12 months. The stock has a market cap of $104.8 billion and P/E ratio of 9.44. Bill Miller had a $231 million position at the end of December. Warren Buffett has a $2 billion position in COP, but he isn’t very happy because he bought his holdings at the top of the market.

10. Chevron Corporation (CVX): Chevron Corporation provides petroleum, chemicals, mining, power generation and energy operations worldwide. CVX recently traded at $102.62 and has a 2.9% dividend yield. CVX gained 37.6% during the past 12 months. The stock has a market cap of $206 billion and P/E ratio of 9.96.

11. ENSCO PLC (ESV): Ensco plc provides offshore contract drilling services. ESV recently traded at $54.50 and has a 2.4% dividend yield. ESV gained 29.5% during the past 12 months. The stock has a market cap of $7.82 billion and P/E ratio of 17.11.

12. Global Partners LP (GLP): Global Partners LP provides sale and distribution of refined petroleum products and natural gas in the United States and internationally. GLP recently traded at $25.78 and has a 7.13% dividend yield. GLP gained 41.6% during the past 12 months. The stock has a market cap of $487 million and P/E ratio of 16.21.
