Tip For Getting In Shape With Online Help

Traineo is a relatively new online site that provides you with a way to have your friends and family help motivate you to get in shape and lose weight.

The free site directs you to pick up to four people who will become your Traineo “motivators.” They will receive weekly email updates on your progress toward your weight loss and fitness goals. The site makes it possible to record food and exercise activity with a few clicks.

Alasdair McLean-Foreman, one of the founders of Traineo, told TechCrunch the site's apps have been “dumbed down” so the software should be the easiest part. “People find it hard enough to stick to a diet/workout routine, otherwise people drop off and lose interest.” TechCrunch gives it a good review for being easy to use and to keep using. Let us know if you are a Traineo user or motivator, and how it's working.

  • I was disappointed to find a very biased article. I clicked on the link entitled "Tips for Getting in Shape with Online Help". I assumed it would consist tips. It was just an advertisement for a free, internet-based, weight-loss site. There wasn't even a comparison with other free, internet-based, weight-loss sites, it was just an advertisement. I know of at least one other similar site at sparkpeople.com. I have signed up for both and found Spark People to be better organized, more knowledgeable, and tailored the program more to my needs. If you wish to announce a website, fine. Please just give it an adequate title that doesn't mislead people like me into wasting their time.
