Highlights of Stocks discussed on CNBC’s Fast Money Half Time Report TV Program, Monday July 11.
Agricultural Sector Highlights:
Monsanto Company (MON) – Melissa Lee posed the question to Zach Carebel,
“Alright let’s talk Monsanto right now, hatching a deal to use their technology to help China, get through droughts and jump-start it’s crop production, this could be a Joint Venture (JV) potentially with Sinochem Zeke do you like MON here based on this JV?”
“Yeah, I like MON period, and have been liking it’s been riding it up here now … MON could be 50% higher a few years from now, maybe more than that.”
Mosaic (MOS) - Melissa Lee pointed out to Pete Najarian,
“At the same time Pete you do like, sort of, like the pure play “ag”, fertilizer names?”
“I do. I’m still holding on to Mosaic right now, and the reason being it’s still holding well above those levels where they actually put out that secondary, around 65 dollars it’s still around 67.”
Guy Adami adds,
“You know MON, people are knocking on valuation, but this is effectively a bio tech stock … I mean, you can make an argument that the valuation isn’t rich enough. This was a $140 dollar stock back in 2008; it’s gotten knocked basically in half through 76 which I think is a 52 week high … I think this stock has some room to run.”
Pops & Drops Highlights:
News Corp (NWSA) - Drop – 7% - Melissa Lee says,
“Let’s do Pops and Drops, “the Dropathon Edition” … the movers you might have missed in today’s session … got a drop here for News Corp it was down 7% ... Kelly?”
Brian Kelly stated,
“Yeah, the BSkyB (British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC) merger perhaps off now and the News of the World issues, if you don’t know this company that well, it’s not a name to jump into right now.”
Renren Inc. (RENN) – Drop – 9% - Pete Najarian says,
“You know, since this IPO this stock has been going lower and obviously social media in China those names obviously last month, month of June, absolutely terrible, I see no reason to jump in into this name and try to catch this falling knife.”
Ford (F) - Down - 4% - Guy Adami stated,
“Talked about it earlier, Zach said he would not own any of these autos, I think Ford if it gets down around $12.75… $13 level gets very interesting.”
Pfizer(PFE) – Drop – 1% - Karen Finerman said,
“I think it wasn't even down 1%, that’s an embarrassing drop … that’s not even a drop, seven tenths? It was down … markets down for stocks … it’s a stock … its down.”
